The Spanish shoe designer Manolo Blahnik was known as the king of stilettos long before ‘Sex and the City’; he makes the most imaginative and, as word has it, the most comfortable high heels in the world. The designer, awarded a honorary doctorate by London’s Royal College of Arts and made a Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elisabeth II, has been putting shoes on predominantly female feet for more than 30 years.
